    Shalom,

please, include me on your email list concerning new moon sightings in Jerusalem, too.

    Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Please add me to your email list. I would like to know when the Sabbaths are and feast days. Thank you

  2. I am a Disciple of Jesus Christ and am doing research on the observance of the new moon by the the disciples of Jesus Christ and the Gospel they preached as the Body of Christ; the Church. Churches of God today (Sabbath and Holy Day keepers) follow the Jews in observing the Day of Blowing of Trumpets on the conjunction or dark moon, and not the waxing crescent or first sliver of light which represents the first day the month and the Sacred Year after the Spring Equinox.

It appears the new moon observance is a very part of understanding God’s chronological time order and the observance of His Sabbath and Holy Days. Paul in Col 2:16 associates the new moon in the same context as the Sabbath and Holy Days.

So please add me to your report email list. I have found it to be very valuable in tracking and observance of God’s appointed times.

Seems there may be an error on the page .
    April 12th is not a thursday 😉

The email list signup is not working, it returns an error. If you have a list can you please add my address.

On another note; What software do you use if any? Can you provide the time, duration, and Illumination of the crescent?

    Todah Rabah
    Turgeman bn Turgeman

    1. Thanks for the heads up, The Signup Form and Email system was down for a few days, but it should be back up and running. I am sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused. I will add you to our list manually now!

I am not sure where the April 12th date is from that says it Thursday?

I’m not specifically sure what software you are talking about. Can you please clarify?
Also, I am pretty certain There are other websites that provide the time, duration and illumination of the moon at anytime.
This website is pretty much strictly for explaining the Creator’s Calendar, reporting the sightings of the New moon in Israel and helping folks determine the feast dates.

I hope this is a help to you!
      Shalom and Blessings!

The US Naval Observatory is one site for duration and illumination of the moon. You will need to supply the Longitude and Latitude for the town/city you wish the information for. You can also search for the equinox and solstice dates as well
      http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/RS_OneDay.php

Another site is timeanddate.com As you will see I have selected Jerusalem, but you can select anywhere in the world. It will show the phases, duration and illumination for the whole month.
      https://www.timeanddate.com/moon/israel/jerusalem

Thank you Mark for this website and the information you supply.

    Shalom Mark,

I kept Peach/Passover the night of March 26th 2013, and that was not right, I forgot about the Spring Equinox. You said you will be having Sukkot starting the night of Oct. 20th and Oct. 21st will begin the Feast as that will be the first day and following those seven day will be the last great day or the Eight Day. The last great day is as it says in John 7:37 “On the last day, that great day of he feast…” What Feast? John 7:2 The Feast of Tabernacles I.e. the Feast of Sukkot. So, the last great day is the last day of Sukkot. How many days is Sukkot? Leviticus 23:34 ” Speak to the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be Chag HaSukkot/The Feast of Tabernacles for SEVEN DAY to YHVH.” So Sukkot is seven days and so the last day of this Feast is the 7th day. Sukkot then, begins on the 15th day of the 7th month of Tishri and ends on the 21st day. So, if Sukkot ends on the 21st day of Tishri, how is the 22nd of Tishri , the last great day? Sukkot pictures the 7th millennium, which is the millenial reign of Y’shua, which is also pictured of course by Shabbat, the 7th day of the week. So, Sukkot which pictures the 7th day is followed by what? The 8th day! So, if Sukkot pictures the 7th day/7th millennium, then what does the day following the 7th day of Sukkot, the22nd day of Tishri, which we call the 8th/Eighth day, what does it( 8th day) picture? The time after the 7th millienium. And do you know what we call this day? We call it ” The Day After Time”,also known as ETERNITY. The Eighth Day is not the end of the 7th Millenium. Why would the final HIGH HOLY DAY picture the end of a finite period of time such as the 7th Milllenium. The Eighth Day pictures ETERNITY and the VISION for us should be, working out our salvation so we can spend ETERNITY with the ONE WHO IS ETERNAL!!! If we are seekers of TRUTH, then instead of focusing just on ruling with the KING MESSIAH Y’SHUA on this earth for a 1000 years, we should be SEEKING UNDERSTANDING OF THE DAY THAT SPEAKS OF ETERNITY…THE GLORIOU AND MAJESTIC EIGHTH DAY!!!

    May YHVH BLESS YOUR UNDERSTANDING
    PRAISE AND SEEK HIM
    Alan

Shalom, we just stumbled on this site and we are in agreement with how you calculate the beginning of the year. We would like to know where you are located, i.e. where do you host the Feast of Tabernacles? And we would like to be put on your emailing list please. We saw the picture of the Feast of Tabernacles celebration presumably for 2010??? and on it everyone was drinking canned sodas. Our hearts sunk and hope information has come to you by now but if not please let us share that these drinks are poison and as our bodies are to be His temples on earth it is important that His people be made aware of the dangers in the foods and drinks used so they can take care of these temples. The stomach fuels the brain and it is the frontal lobe of the brain that is our conscience. If it is impaired by toxins and poisons in the system [stomach/blood] then it will interfer with our spiritual relationship with our Almighty Father and His Son our Awesome Redeemer. May He impart discerment and the desire to grow spiritually to all His children that we may go home soon. Shalom Aleichem, Daryl and Marchita Johnson

    1. Shalom, I added you to our new moon report email list! I hope it blesses you. Brother Mark Harris is super busy right now, but I have passed on this request of information to him, and he will try to get back as soon as possible. Oh and I would like to settle your worries about drinking sodas. We actually do not drink sodas and neither does Brother Mark Harris. We have not for over 30 years. While we do not drink sodas, and certainly do not serve them, we cannot really monitor what other people bring to eat themselves. We do have a health message, but some listen and some do not. I do agree with you about health and how important it is. Maybe we should change the picture to promote health as we believe it should be. 🙂 Thank you for your concerns and your questions…we will email you when further updates are available. ~Jessica for Brother Mark Harris

Feast of trumpets should be around 9/5th at sunset
    and
Feast of tabernacles should be around 9/18th at sunset
….2013 right? I am new to trying to keep the holidays have been baning my head trying to figure it out. I want to plan for Sukkah accordingly.
    Blessings be with you!

    1. According to my understanding of the Calendar…Trumpets is expected to be based on sightings 10/7 That would put Atonement around 10/11 and Tabernacles around 10/21 through 10/29 …Again we are going my the sighting of the first moon after the equinox to determine the first of the year, so that would put other groups of believers on different schedules…Please watch my Creator’s Calendar Video for More Clarification! http://whenisthenewmoon.com/the-creators-calendar-hebrew-calendar/

Do you agree that the weekly Sabbath is also calculated by the moon, or do you believe that it is the the fixed date of Saturday each month

    Blessings

    1. The Sabbath is kept from sunset on the sixth day of the week (Friday) at sunset, to The fixed Seventh day of the week (Saturday) at sunset. I do not follow the lunar Sabbath belief. The moons are only to determine the months, not the Sabbath….

      Blessings to you as well!

      Shalom!

  6. Hi mark.
Do you know of any Sabbath keeping churches in the uk. that keep the biblical calendar like you.

    thank you Adrian.

    1. I do not know of any right now. I am sorry. Shalom!

  7. This site is a blessing and I’m glad to have brethren who choose to keep YAH’S time and calendar. Keep up the great work and stay on tue wall as watchmen. To YAH be all the glory!

Why does mainstream Judaism keep the feast days a day earlier than us?

    1. Because after the Jews were scattered, they found it easier to calculate their calendar. This is not in sink with the way YHWH originally intended the calendar to be determined. These are His days and we should be keeping them the days He declares… The sightings do not always add up with the calculated, but sometimes they do. Some sects of Judaism still go by the sightings, but Mainstream have chosen to follow the calculated. I hope this answers your question.

I’m around Oklahoma and my night moon sighting says its a new moon on the night of sunday, the morning of monday with regards to days terms. The Feast of Trumpets is on Monday right, the 17 th?

    1. Yes…the 17th of September at sunset starts The Feast of Trumpets. The sightings are a little different in Israel than they are here in the US, that is why we have a central point (Israel) to sight the moon so that all believers are on the same schedule!

what happens when you dont see the new moon until it is in the second day or the thrid day how do you keep the new moon then. from pic of the new moon that is showen here it looks like it is in the second day phase, the reason I say this I have seen the new moon on other occations that the sliver was alot smaller.

      GAry

      1. Depending on the time, the new moon sliver can be different sizes. The key is to sight the moon after 29 days, if it is not sighted that day then you try again on the 30th day and declare the next day the first day by default. A month can only have 29 to 30 days… So the size of the moon depends on when it starts showing it’s light to earth at any place, but by the time it reaches Israel, it may vary in size. The place that it is officially sighted and declared is from Israel!
