New Moon Report – 1st Month 2023

Happy New Biblical Year Everyone!

The New Moon was sited worldwide this evening, Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023!

Location: For worldwide sighters, beginning from Israel, the biblical New Year has begun because the New Moon was sighted Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in several countries before the sun went down in Israel.

For Jerusalem only sighters, the new moon was NOT sited in Israel due to cloud cover, so for most of you, the new moon will be starting tomorrow night.

Date Sighted: Wednesday, March, 22nd, 2023 (Worldwide)

Biblical Hebrew Month: This is the 1st Biblical Hebrew Month, also known as Aviv.

This means that from sunset on Wednesday March, 22nd, 2023 to sunset on Thursday, March, 23rd, 2023, marks the first new moon day, also the first day of the biblical Hebrew year!

Biblical Hebrew Month: This is the First Biblical Hebrew Month, also known as Aviv.

Greetings. I am a “worldwide” viewer and accept that if a new moon is seen before sunset arrives in Jerusalem, that the new moon day has started no matter what is claimed in Jerusalem.
However, this month I am quite dubious that that the new moon was seen at sites east of Israel before the sunset in Israel. That is, I doubt they were valid. The conjunction was less than 22.5 hours before sunset in Jerusalem, and this makes a sighting very unlikely in Jerusalem. The moon would have been younger in eastward sites , further reducing the chance of a sighting at eastward sites.

It appears this month there is great confusion regarding the first day of the first month. You have stated the “International Date Line” is Jerusalem.

But, you declare, “Location: For worldwide sighters, beginning from Israel, the biblical New Year has begun because the New Moon was sighted Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in several countries before the sun went down in Israel.”

Then you declare, “For Jerusalem only sighters, the new moon was NOT sited in Israel due to cloud cover, so for most of you, the new moon will be starting tomorrow night.”

Because you reported the new moon was tonight, our group met tonight to celebrate the new moon and counted days to the feasts.

We use your site to determine when the new moon is sighted in Jerusalem.

Could you please simply state the new moon was not sighted in Jerusalem
and not state anything about worldwide sightings.

Thank you for the blessing you are to so many who do not live in Jerusalem.

Greetings brother Harris, we so appreciate your website and posting the new moon sighting from Israel. Can you give us a little more details as to how many witnesses saw it and perhaps a location? Some are asking if there were sufficient witnesses to commence the New Year. Thank you so much.

    1. Greetings Brother!

So the New Moon was Not sighted in Israel tonight by any of our Local sighters due to cloud cover. However, the New Moon was sighted by multiple witnesses this evening, in several different countries Worldwide, before the sun went down in Israel.

Who saw it? All reports I have, they did not see it. Is there more than one witness?

    Hello!

We’ve been eagerly awaiting the sighting of the New Moon, though several reports have said that it was too overcast, illumination too low, lag time too short, etc. to be seen; this is the first positive claim I’m seeing.

You all spotted it from Israel? 2+ witnesses? I know the community would love some more details on the occurrence, as so many are reliant on these reports as we’re scattered around the world.

    Shalom!

    Sarah

    1. Shalom sarah!

Yes! We have all been eagerly awaitung this New Moon, as it determins the New Year!

The weather conditions were very overcast in Israel today, making it impossible to see the moon at all. Therefore, the New Moon was Not sighted in Israel tonight by any of our Local sighters, due to cloud cover. However, the New Moon was sighted by multiple witnesses this evening, in several different countries Worldwide, before the sun went down in Israel.
